TURN TECHNOLOGY INTO AN OPPORTUNITY

About the project

We live in the century of globalization and digital era so technology and English are indispensable parts of our lives. Beyond that, speaking a foreign language also allows the improvement of speaking, listening skills which can be obtained not only in class leraning but also doing different activities out of the classroom and using technological tools. Teachers always make an effort to make their students understand that learning is never a waste of time and it improves our intellectual abilities.Unfortunately the students in our school are not good at web 2.0 and technological tools and also English. Students have trouble in practising English and integrating the four skills as they have limited chance to practice. Hence our Project aims to give chance to practice not only using technological tools but also English usage and improve four language skills by using web 2.0 tools and some other activities decided by the participants.

AIMS

-The main aim of this project is to motivate students for studying a foreign language;
-To learn/ practice/ or improve their English
-To experience different teaching/learning methods;
-To enjoy studying grammar and vocabulary in a foreign language;
-To provide the opportunity for the students to gain life, communication and social skills;
-To enable the students to use digital tools to improve their knowledge;
-To enable students to communicate with students from other countries/ languages;
- Develop both written and spoken communication skills in foreign language(s);
-Enhance pupils ICT skills within a collaborative project;
-Learn how to express themselves through different types of media – web and graphic design, digital photography, video storytelling, etc;
-To help them experience the satisfaction of producing their own materials
-To encourage students to take part in social activities and become social people.
-To work with different schools and collabarote with them.

WORK PROCESS

OCTOBER
-Teachers' first webinar to organise the project plan
-Forming student groups and presenting Twinspace and the project
- Schools organise an e Twinning noticeboard
-openning project blog
-The teachers/students introduce themselves in Twinspace
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER
- Each school design a logo and with a survey decide the logo together
- Students Shoot a vlog about school life
-Introducing the students web 2 tools and some technological tools
JANUARY/FEBRUARY
- organising students groups from different schools to prepare a presentation about parties,festivals and certain days via technological tools,
- Organising students group and they will Sing the different parts of a song and combining them in one video
- Students' groups write a song together and write it with canva
MARCH /APRIL
- Organising students' groups from different schools
- Composing a short story about a decided topic by students' group

Presenting final works of the project

EXPECTED RESULTS

At the end of this project, Students will be able to use technology to improve their English.They will have better understanding of four skills which will make contribution to their academic level.Students will gain confidence in using English. Students will improve four skills in English language. Students will get to know new people, new countries and new culture. Students will also understand the importance of cooperation, collaboration and friendship while they are working as groups. Students will also able to learn how to use some web 2.0 tools. We hope that students increase their several skills in foreign languages and in ICT at the end of the project.
